Earlier this week during the opening of the 2014 NAIAS show in Detroit, Chevrolet revealed the new generation 2015 Corvette Z06. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is powered by a newly developed LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that develops 625 hp (466 kW) and 635 lb.-ft. of torque (861 Nm). So far, Chevy did not disclose the performance figures (0-62 mph / 0-100 km/h acceleration time, top speed) of the new Corvette Z06 (2015). It comes equipped with a new 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger that spins at up to 20,000 rpm, and a standard 7-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match. Optionally, you can equip your 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. It also boasts Direct injection, Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) and continuously variable valve timing.
In comparison to the standard Stingray, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 comes with enhanced aerodynamics for more downforce, flared fenders (2.2 inches /56 mm wider at the front, and 3.15 inches / 80 mm) at the rear) that accommodate wider tires, and larger vents. The standard 2015 Corvette Z06 comes with a front splitter, a carbon-fiber hood, and a rear spoiler.
Optionally, you can equip your new Corvette Z06 (2015) with a carbon-fiber aero package. Chevrolet is going to offer the Z07 Performance Package for the 2015 Corvette Z06. This package includes extra aerodynamic body parts, Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires, and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.
Chevrolet is going to announce the 2015 Corvette Z06’s price ahead of the supercar’s on-sale date, which has been scheduled for early 2015.
