Ford Fiesta ST 2013

Ford have just unveiled the new Fiesta ST (2013) at the 2012 Geneva motor show, and it’s one of the hottest looking hot hatches on the market today. Ford revealed the 3-door version of the 2013 Fiesta ST, but we’re sure the 5-door model is just around the corner. The power comes from a 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine, which develops 180 PS at 5750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque from 1,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Taking into account that the Fiesta ST weighs about as much as a feather, this means some serious fun.

The 2013 Fiesta ST is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a front-wheel-drive system. Ford rates the new Fiesta ST (2013) with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time of 7 seconds and maximum speed of 220 km/h. Its CO2 emissions figure is 140g/km. For the interior of the 2013 Fiesta ST, Ford is offering carbon fiber trim parts, a sport steering wheel, alloy pedals and gear knob. The equipment list of the new Fiesta ST (2013) includes the Ford SYNC system (voice control and in-car connectivity system), MyKey and the Sound Symposer. Ford’s MyKey system enables the owner to limit the performance of the 2013 Fiesta ST in case a less experienced driver is at the wheel. The Sound Symposer is more of a party piece than a useful technology. This new technology takes care of the in-car sound system, by transferring engine noises from under the bonnet to the cabin.

The 2013 Fiesta ST is equipped with electric power steering, a new chassis developed by Ford Team RS, vented brake discs, an Enhanced Torque Vectoring Control (eTVC) system, and a 3-mode ESC. The ESC of the new Fiesta ST (2013) has three settings: ON, WIDE SLIP (allows you to do some drifting), OFF (you can do pretty much anything you want with it).
