New Lotus Esprit planned for 2012

It looks like Lotus have decided to push on and speed up development of the new Lotus Esprit and the new Elise which should hit the market in 2012 and 2011.
The 2012 Esprit will be based on the Evora, but will be a longer, wider version of the new Evora with a mid-mounted V8 engine.
Production of the Esprit is dependent on sufficient funds being generated by the Evora and, possibly, cash from an outside investor.
So far, it looks positive for Lotus and engineers are working towards the launch in 2012.
